Audition information

We are accepting submissions on an ongoing basis

THE SINGING BOIS are seeking musicians to join their upcoming projects. Positions include:

•    singer/performer (all voice parts considered)
•    bassist

DETAILS:

Starting with a main stage presentation at Utah Presents in April 2018, the ensemble will perform additional dates in the Bay Area, greater California, and national and international venues. The tour will include performances of the musical revue A Queerstory of the Boy Band, as well as concert sets drawn from the show and the band’s broader repertoire.

We’re interested in reflecting and supporting a range of gender expressions: butch, trans, stud, genderqueer, non-binary, and other identifications all welcome. For singers, we're specifically seeking masculine-of-center artists. For instrumentalists, we're open. If you have questions about any of this, please reach out!

TO AUDITION:

Please send an email (info@thesingingbois.com) with the following:

SINGERS:

1. Description of your music and performance experience
2. Video clip of you singing a song of your choice (at least one verse and chorus, 32 bars, or 60 seconds). Song can be a cappella or with accompaniment
3. Schedule availability for an in-person audition
4. Interest in and general availability for touring
5. Preferred gender pronouns

INSTRUMENTALISTS:

1. Description of music and performance experience
2. Video clips of you playing an excerpt from "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire" and an excerpt from "I Want You Back" (click here for audio and charts). Play along with the recording or on your own.
3. Schedule availability for an in-person audition
4. Interest in and general availability for touring
5. Preferred gender pronouns
